Data warehouse is the database where all corporate information are stored. We can also treat this as corporate memory. Organizations have different business processes and business operations. For business intelligence solution we need company data for business analysis.

Sometimes data is collected to handle on going business. This type of data is called operational data and the system is called online transaction processing (OLTP).
